Jay-Z and Beyonce are hosting a fundraiser for President Obama in New York on Sept. 18, the campaign has confirmed.

The event will be held at Jay-Z ‘s 40/40 Club, and – as is the case with many high-profile Obama fundraisers – anyone can donate to the campaign for the chance to win a ticket. Otherwise, it costs $40,000 to attend.

The married stars are “committed to doing whatever it takes to ensure that President Obama is re-elected so he can keep moving our country forward,” they said in a joint statement provided by the campaign.

And in an e-mail going out to Obama supporters on Thursday, Beyonce mentioned their daughter, Blue Ivy, as one reason for getting involved.

“This has been a big year for my husband and me: We became parents,” she wrote. “Now that we have more than our own futures to worry about, the stakes in this election are even higher.”

Page Six, the first with the scoop about next week’s fundraiser, says the event will be “intimate and capped at 100 guests.” (Politico/McDevitt/Reuters)
