The first family is planning a low-key Super Bowl Sunday, Michelle Obama told celebrity chef Rachael Ray in an interview airing Wednesday.

“We’ll probably watch it at home. It’ll probably be a quiet Super Bowl this year,” the first lady said.

Asked about her favorite game-time snack, Obama said, “You know nachos are always good, [if] it’s fresh tomato sauce and you get it on sort of a good quality tortilla.” As for her husband, she said that President Obama “loves avocado. That’s his favorite snack food, a chip dipped in some guac.”

Last year, the first lady came under fire for promoting healthy eating while serving high-calorie food at the White House for the big game. “I don’t even know what you’d have other than some hot dogs and some burgers for a Super Bowl party,” Obama said in defense of the menu at the time.  (Politico/McDevitt)
